Cynthia Davis on Missouri Freedom Radio

In the recent Missouri Freedom Radio Interview, Grant Warren, show host, stated that although the Federal Supreme Court’s recent approval towards Obamacare was unbelievable, “it’s not that unbelievable.” Mr. Warren stated. “Because when does the Federal Government ever put a check against their own power?”

Cynthia Davis, who is running for Lt. Governor of Missouri, and was the featured guest for the evening’s call-in radio show, was then asked about the recent ruling, and how it pertained to the people of Missouri. Cynthia quickly responded by saying that, “Our state has to stand up and be brave, proud, and strong – and fight with everything in us to serve our citizens. It’s really about taking care of our people and maintaining our autonomy.”

Davis continued by saying that although she couldn’t fix the Supreme Court or the Federal Government, “What we can fix is Missouri. You have to pick what you can win. The Supreme Court didn’t cause this problem with our country. It was the congress – the officials that we elected…the only way we can fix it is by having congress unravel the mess they’ve made. So when you tell your children that they’ve made a mess, and they need to clean it up – you have to monitor it. You don’t tell them to clean it up, and then go away and leave them to do whatever they want. You have to make sure they understand your expectations in how to get it done.”

Davis explains that when she started in politics, it was to help make things better in her community. And one of the ways of doing this was through her and her husband opening up a Christian bookstore in O’Fallon, Missouri. ”We did so because we wondered what we could bring that our community didn’t have, and that would help it out. And that’s when we started the “Back to Basics” Christian bookstore.” Cynthia said. Because ultimately, “Everyone can do something to make our communities better.”

When later involved in city government, Davis stated that she realized that government couldn’t be changed until the people sitting in the seats of Government changed. When she later had an opportunity to run for state government, she learned that, “All governments tend to be greedy and seek to extract the maximum possible from their citizens.”

Davis believes that Governor Nixon has been a fairly respectable Democrat. “We need to get away from attaching labels, and saying that if someone is Democrat, they’re automatically bad, and that Republicans are automatically good. That’s not serving us well. We need to ask instead, who is going to get us where we need to go.”

One Response to Cynthia Davis on Missouri Freedom Radio

The Supreme Court is not part of “the Federal government” nor is the Congress. The “government” is the Executive branch. The Affordable Care Act was passed by a congress with the majority favorably disposed towards finally beginning to address the shocking lack of affordable health care in American society, and this Congress was popularly elected in all cases by the people.

The Supreme Court is in fact a check on both Congress and the Executive by design; read the Federalist Papers.

But to this individual, “big government” is as inchoate a concept as is “verbosity”: essentially, such a wide gap has opened between the education of ordinary people (including local politicians) and the bicoastal liberal elite that the former are unable to follow the reasoning of SCOTUS justices.

It’s ignored, in a society in which I’ve seen retirees bothered by police for making copies of documents in libraries, that even rural people can use the public library to be as effective as the bicoastal elite, because it’s much easier to pretend to an innocence and wisdom and to claim that the Supreme Court is “Federal”, or part of the government.
