Law Suit Filed Against Missouri Department of Revenue Today: Temporary Restraining Order Signed. First we’re being watched through traffic cameras along our Missouri highways. Now the Missouri Department of Revenue is using new equipment that will “share” your personal information — probably including information about people with conceal carry permits — with Homeland Security.
Convincing evidence was revealed via a legal petition requesting a temporary restraining order on the DOR implementation. The petition discusses a plaintiff who was requested by a employee to provide his application for Concealed Carry Endorsement (which was previously approved by Carl Hefner, the Sheriff of Stoddard County), Birth Certificate, & Documents such as Utility or Property Tax bills to prove residency. These documents would then be scanned by Defendant’s employee’s and saved in digitally in the Department of Revenues data storage system.
However, due to the operation of a new document scanning system supplied to Defendant, Plaintiff’s information would be scanned and retained in digital format in equipment that bears the identification tags of “Property of L-1 Identity Solutions” and “Property of Morpho Trust USA”. L-1 Identity Solutions and Morpho Trust USA, according to public declarations from the companies themselves, is a trusted partner of federal agencies, who designs and implements solutions and policies for secure, reliable identity management.
This was filed today in Stoddard County and Judge Rob Mayer promptly signed it. Click here to read the legal petition.
This petition is the first step to quashing the DOR’s new privacy destroying plan. There’s no doubt that the case will work its way up the legal system. We must insist that the courts respect Missouri’s sovereign right to protect her people’s privacy and right to keep and bear arms. In Missouri, HB 436 and it’s companion Senate bill, SB 325, are the only bills that will fully protect us from federal gun grabs.
