Yes, we here at Missouri Tenth have been busy watching the leftists in the government bemoan the “terrors” of the government shutdown. We’ve heard the “spin”, such as how the shutdown is costing us 300 million dollars a day (as opposed to the federal government spending about 10.46 billion a day back in 2011 – who knows how much it is now….) and U.S. Director of National Security James Clapper saying that it’s difficult to “guarantee” American security during the federal government shutdown (as if he could guarantee it when the government isn’t shut down? Hah…please).
As for all those military folks and civil servants who aren’t working? Well, what else is new? A lot of people in our communities have been struggling to find jobs because of the federal government meddling in their local economies, and they haven’t had the luxury of being supported on the taxpayer dime to begin with.
So while the shutdown will likely be only temporary – let’s enjoy this short time we have where the federal government isn’t busy blowing billions every day to find new and inventive ways to stomp on our rights.
